Figurative Language

 Figurative language for blog

Our class have been looking at a thing called Figurative Language. We have learnt so much about figurative language, like there are lot’s of different types of figurative language. For an example there are Metaphors,Similes and Alliteration. Metaphors are when you describe to unlike things without using the words like or as .Similes are the same thing but you have to use like or as in it. Alliteration is were you make a sentence using the same letter over and over.

Do you know anything about figurative language?

Welcome to Tasmania

Class 3/4 Price are taking part in the eschoolblogs student challenge this term. Some of the students are going to leave some comments about great places to visit in Tasmania. Share some of the places of interest in your state or province that a visitor should visit.

Poetry Reading

Our class has been reading the iconic poem about Australia called “My Country.” In particular focusing on the vivid imagery contained in the poem. The challenge for the students was to turn the words in the poem into colourful drawings. We loved this poem about our country. What is your favourite poem and why?

Rise of the Phoenix

After watching a short animated video about a Phoenix the students had a go at drawing their own version of a Phoenix. A Phoenix is a mythical bird that arose from the ashes of a fire. Do you know of any other mythical creatures? If so share them here with a comment.
