Our class has been doing a swimming and water safety program over the last two weeks.  It has been lots of fun.
What do you like about swimming and what has been a highlight for you?  Ask a question for someone else to answer.

Words Words Words

Our class have been talking about WORDS and how amazing they are.
One WORD can mean so many different things.  My challenge word for you is LOOM.  Does it mean more than one thing? Can you use it when you are talking to someone.
We are also going to look at IDIOMS. What does “Heart of gold” or “It’s raining cats and dogs” really mean?
Play the games on the website http://www.vocabulary.co.il/idioms/

Share WORDS and IDIOMS that you discover with us……

We have been finding out about different explorers and their discoveries. We were really interested to find out that people used to think that the world was flat. We liked the wonder http://wonderopolis.org/wonder/what-is-your-quest/ and we have been writing QUEST stories.
Wouldn’t it be great to be the first person to discover a new place? Where in the world would you like to explore and why?
If you are from a different country can you tell us about your place so we can decide if we would like to be an explorer there?

Welcome to the world of BLOGGING

Hi Grade Four

Welcome to our Class Blog.
On our blog you will be able to publish your own work as well as read and comment on work belonging to other people.  There will also be links for you to explore.  Even your parents will be able to read our class blog.  It will be exciting and a challenge as we learn about blogging together. It will be a great way for us to connect with each other and other people around Australia and the world.

Holidays I had a relaxing holiday and a highlight for me was going to the beach.  We went to the East Coast of Tasmania where the house we stayed at had a view of the beautiful blue water.   I took our two dogs Jock and Bessie.  They had a great time swimming and playing in the surf.  Aren’t they cute?

Please write back and tell me and the class a highlight from your holiday and where you were.  Ask the class a question at the end of your comment. Remember what we have learnt about quality comments.

Recently when I was in the USA I saw lots of skyscrapers, especially in New York.  Some of the buildings included The Empire State Building, The Flat Iron Building and the Rockefeller centre.  Living in a high rise is not something we have experienced in Tasmania.
 Ms B
When you look at the photos what do you notice about Skyscrapers?
Have you ever been in a skyscraper? Where was it and and what was it like?
What do you think of the art work the children have made based on the idea of the skyscraper?
What would it be like to live in a skyscraper?
