I wanted to start off this message by saying, I’m very sorry that I have not been on my blog for a very long time. I have been so busy, and unfortunately not had enough time to fit in a post. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. This set of Summer holidays are nearly over so I am going to tell you a bit about my experience and what I have been up to.
I spent a big chunk of the holidays at the beach, as we have a shack down there. It was extremely cold to start off with, but we had a pleasant heat wave and temperatures got up to 36 degrees Celsius, which is very hot. At the beach you get up to lots of interesting fun things like, going for bike rides, cooling off in the water, and playing tennis. I would highly recommend going to the beach, even for a day trip, and rate that experience 8/10.
Another stand out for this holidays was having my Auntie, Uncle, and cousins down from Queensland. They stayed for a long time and I liked seeing my cousins, and interacting with them, in other ways than technology. Unfortunately they weren’t here for the heat wave, so they still think Queensland is a lot hotter, even though at times it is definitely not! That was highly enjoyable and gets scored 8/10 as well.
I did many other very memorable things this holidays, and I hope you have been enjoying your holidays as much as mine. Have fun for the next two weeks… Then we are back!!!
Christmas is nearly on our heels. Everybody is christmas shopping, busy wrapping presents and organizing Christmas meals. It is such a buzzing, busy time of the year!
Lots of different events happen such as family meals together, putting up your Christmas tree, carols and eating special foods such as ham, turkey ad pudding. Santa Aldo comes, which is most of the children’s favorites, but you have to remember it’s not all about the presents.
Santa Claus comes to all the good children’s homes on Christmas eve to deliver all the presents (AND eat all the food that has been left out!!!!!) if you don’t believe you won’t revieve though In different country’s they do call santa different names like Saint Nicolous, Kris Kringle and father Christmas.
I hope you have been good all year and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS,
I have decided to write this post to reflect on this filled, eventful year of 2013. Many wonderful, sad and world changing events happened.

What is the highlight of 2013 for you?
What a year 2013 has been! Merry Christmas and a happy new year
As it is becoming the end of the year we have been given a task to do a blog evaluation. We got given a number of questions to answer and here are my answers.
- How many posts did you write? 22
- How many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge? 8 were school baised, and 22 were my own topics.
- How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students? In total I recieved 143 comments, Mainly from students in my class at school. Most of the comments were actually from me!!
- Which post received the most comments? Why do you think that happened? About blogging so far and Aussie Animal card swap both had 11 comments. think they had the most because they were easy to interact with and had exciting questions for the reader to answer.
- Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why? Probably Aussie Animal card swap as it was exciting to know other people would be checking to see if they had the cards!
- Did you change blog themes at all and why? I have changed it once as all the widgets were down the bottom of the page, which was extra annoying
- How many widgets do you have? Do you think this is too many or not enough? In total I have 27,but if you just counted the ones I found that would be 19. I think maybe that is a bit too much but I like them all.
- How many overseas students do you have on your blogroll? I only have one students blog, unfortunally but I do have a class blog called: If only the best birds sang.
I hope you liked reading the answers the these questions. Don’t worry, I will have my blog for many years to come. And thanks so much to miss W with helping me with all this wonderful work. It has been a pleasure to work with you and I hope to keep in touch through blogging.
This post has been written by Miss W to congratulate Annabel and to show how you can vote for her blog.
Congratulations go to both Mackenzie and Annabel whose blogs have been shortlisted in the best student blog section of the Edublog Awards.
If teachers wish to vote for their blogs before the 18th December, please click on the image below. You may only vote once from the same IP address. This means vote from lots of different computers outside the school system, as all department computers have the same IP Address. You will need to join list.ly to make your vote count.
If your students wish to vote for them, they will need to click on this link and find either Mackenzie (!ROAR!) or Annabel (Dance to this blog) on the poll and vote that way. The reason students vote differently is that Edublog Awards are on a list.ly format and you can only join if 13 and older (or if your parents create an account for you). So younger students get the chance to vote using the polldaddy instead. They can vote once each day from the same IP address.
Miss Wyatt has also been nominated in the lifetime achievement section – click here if you wish to vote for her.
The student blogging challenge which Miss Wyatt runs has also been nominated in the best use of social media section – click here to vote for that.
Many thanks to those educationalists around the world who nominated either Mackenzie, Annabel or Miss Wyatt for the Edublog Awards.
I have been visiting some extra cool blogs that have been nominated a best blog awards for 2012. They were all extra good and creative with interesting posts.
The first blog I visited belonged to a girl named Dana. It was very interesting and I definitely enjoyed her all about me page. Her latest post was on her favourite web game which was Movie Star Plannet. I have never heard of that game so I was quite interested about it. I liked how she had explained what you do and even added a picture so you got even more or an idea what the game was about. Here is her blog.
I also visited a lovely blog called Come Somersault With Sarah. It was such a interesting and exciting blog and I found out that she was auditioning for an Junior Orchestra. She is obviously very good!!! She had an really great video of her playing the violin which was great, she had lots of information too.. Her blog link is here.
The last but not least blog I visited was called Bronte’s Barn. Her last two recent posts were about her horse named Ruby. She has been trying to sell her and finally sold it! What made it extra exciting was that she used her blog to try to sell Ruby. That was wonderful and super interesting. If you would like to venture to that blog then click here.
What did you think of the blogs?
What was your favourite?
Did you find any widgets to put on your blog?

At the moment our class has been focusing on fractions and decimals. A fraction is an equal part of a whole thing. Some examples are: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 2/5.
We have been trying to find interesting facts and equvilant fractions to help our understanding. We have found out that if you can half the top and bottom number it has an equivalent fraction (This also works if you can devide it by three). Some equvilant fractions are:
•2/4 = 1/2
•3/9 = 1/3
• 1/1 = Whole
Not all fractions have equalvalent fractions.
I hope you learnt some interesting facts about fractions.
What other facts on fractions do you know?
Do you know any really tricky tricks for fractions.
Throughout my blog and posts you may have figured out a bit about me, But I wanted to show you about me using a program called animoto. I am new to animoto and this is the first video I have ever created. I hope you like it
I would like you to answer some questions about you:

What is your favourite colour?
